Hey! My dad’s birthday is in a week and I have no idea what to get him. I love my dad and I am a daddy’s girl (even though I’m 22). I feel terrible that I have no idea but I want it to be something personal but useful. Oh and my dad loves model trains (oh and Dream Theater( the band)). Too afraid to get him a model though since it may not be what he wants. Don’t want to do a gift card since they are so not personal.

There is jut 3 of us myself and 2 older brothers in their 60’s. A few years ago I came into quite a bit of money which I invested and live off of the interest. One of the first things I did when I got my money was I took both my brothers and their families on a 2 week cruise to Hawaii all expenses paid which they never thanked me for. So this year I decided to buy myself a new car for my 50th birthday. I bought a BMW 650 convertible my old car had over 100,000 miles on it. but now my brothers are saying that I should buy them new cars as well. I’ve Always sent them money for birthdays Christmas etc and half the time they don’t even send me a card. So what should I say if they mention me buying them a new car? i’d **** to hear what they would say if I bought a new house or something.

my brothers girlfriend moved here with us, they went back home (2 plane flights away) a few weeks ago for her dads 50th birthday and had been back for about a week when he friend from school was killed in a helicopter accident (back home), because they had just been there and spent a lot of money, they dont have the money for her to go. he has to pay 2 registrations for their car and motor bike, they have 3 huskies to look over and they both work. he also has to buy new glasses and has a heap of other bills.

along with the fact that she hasnt spoken to her friend in 3 years he has said they just cant afford to go.

is he wrong for saying this?

she wants to put it on their credit card but they cant afford to pay it back.

my brother offered to take the day off work so they could do a memorial ceremony together and get a wreath but she wont even talk to him
